Shortly after your child has started at the Nursery, he/she will be assigned to a key person. This will be a qualified member of staff, who will build up a special relationship with your child and will be responsible for making sure your child is happy and feels secure whilst at Nursery. Your child’s key person will keep you informed of your child’s progress.

We run regular parent evenings where you will be introduced to the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum’. We have a bi-yearly system of written reports – February/March and July and have 1:1 parent/key person interviews. However, we have daily contact with all parents/carers and are happy to discuss any concerns throughout the year.

Each child has a ‘Record Of Achievement’ which the Key Person uses to capture your child’s progress throughout their time at Nursery across the Early Years Foundation framework. You can review your child’s Record of Achievement at any time, but it is more formally given to you for review twice a year along with a summary report on your child’s progress.

Once your child has started with us, you will receive an Observation Book which you can use to write in any new activities, new toys, special occasions or skills that your child has learnt that you wish to share with your child’s Key Person. You can write in the Observation Book as many times as you wish and hand it in whenever you like. This is a great way of how parents can share in their child’s learning process and ensures we can plan effectively for your child’s development.
