We aim to work in partnership with parents and carers, involving them fully in their child’s learning and development. We have a variety of means of doing this:

Observation Books

Once your child has started with us, you will receive an Observation Book which you can use to write in any new activities, new toys, special occasions, skills that your child has learnt or achievements that you wish to share with your child’s Key Person. We welcome feedback in these books on what activities your child enjoyed whilst at Nursery too. You can write in the Observation Book as many times as you wish and hand it in whenever you like. This is a great way of how parents can share in their child’s learning process and ensures we can plan effectively for your child’s development.

 Ideas Book

We keep an Ideas Book on the Parents’ Noticeboard which we review weekly. If you have any suggestions for improvement, bright ideas, or general questions (that you do not feel need an immediate answer), we welcome you to write them here. We welcome your feedback and we continually strive to improve.

Drop In Sessions

We have an ‘open door’ policy for all parents throughout the year, however annually, we more formally invite parents to attend a session to simply observe, or play a more active role if they wish! This is a great opportunity to see what goes on behind closed doors and gives an insight into the learning activities undertaken.

Further communication with parents

We email the next term’s theme to all parents, so that you are aware of what your child will be focusing on every week. This enables parents to continue the learning process at home if you so wish.

We also email a newsletter to all parents twice a term, which details all the current news and projects at the Nursery as well as our latest fundraising events and socials.

All our policies and copies of the latest letters to parents can be found in the Parents’ File within the Nursery.

We also have a Calendar Of Events; some of our events are fundraisers, some just for parents and friends and some for the children. All of them provide the opportunity to get to know fellow parents and to have some fun along the way!
